Tom Hardy Tipped to Play Capone

Tom Hardy is in talks to play Al Capone in the upcoming gangster trilogy Cicero.

The Inception star is close to finalising a deal to step into the infamous mobster's shoes in filmmaker David Yates' next project, which will chart Capone's childhood in Brooklyn, New York and his rise to power.

The first of the three movies is due to begin production next year (13), according to TheWrap.com.

It's the latest high-profile leading part for Hardy, who will next be seen playing the villainous Bane in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises in July (12).
