Clint Eastwood Turned Down Bond & Superman

Clint Eastwood has revealed that he turned down offers to play both James Bond and Superman.
The actor has admitted that he didn't want to step into already created franchises and turned down the offer to take over from Sean Connery as 007 after the Scot left in the early seventies.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph the actor said: "I was offered pretty good money to do James Bond if I would take on the role. But to me, well, that was somebody else's gig. That's Sean's deal. It didn't feel right for me to be doing it."
Clintwood said that he was the first choice of Warner Bros to play Clark Kent, a role that eventually went to Christopher Reeves.
"I can remember, and this was many years ago, when [Warner's President] Frank Wells came to me about doing Superman. So it could have happened.
"This was when they first started to think about making it. I was like, 'Superman? Nah, nah, that's not for me'. Not that there's anything wrong with it. It's for somebody, but not me."
The actor was last seen on the big screen back in 2008 with the critically acclaimed movie Gran Torino, a film that he also directed. And directing seems to be his focus with the release of Invictus last year, following up the successes of Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers and Changeling.
Hereafter is his next movie, which once again sees him work with Matt Damon, before going on to biopic picture Hoover with Leonardo DiCaprio.
