The 44-year-old actor plays a widower struggling to raise two sons in 'The Boys Are Back' and admits he regularly became overcome with emotion at the touching story.
He confessed: "The scene where I'm telling my young boy that his mother is dying, that she might not be around for much longer, was such a devastating idea just to even think about. Every time I read it in the script it upset me.

"I think it will move people in lots of different ways. It will touch you if you've lost somebody who's close to you. It will touch you if you've been estranged from your children or if your parents were divorced."
Clive - who is married to Sarah-Jane Fenton - says he found the role particularly tough because he identified so much with his character.
He added to Parade.com: "This film is about being a parent from a guy's perspective and I find it very touching and I could relate to a lot of it. What you see is a part of my life. Parenting has been a priority for me."
