Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs has done the double as it tops the box office in both the UK and the U.S
The latest 3D movie is an adaptation of the book by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett and toppled District 9 after a two week reign at the top.
The movie follows a scientist tries to solve world hunger only to see things go awry as food falls from the sky in abundance and was the only movie to break through the £1 million barrier.
Gerard Butler's new movie Gamer was a new entry at number three. It's been a busy year for the Scot after the success of The Ugly Truth, he teams up with Jamie Foxx later this year for Law Abiding Citizen.
500 Days of Summer moved up one place from five to four while The Final Destination dropped three places from number two to round off the top five.
There was also a three place drop for Dorian Gray as it fell from three to six. Sorority Row also dropped put of the top five as it fell four places from four to eight.
NIck Love was back inside the top ten as his new movie The Firm, which looks at the ugly side of football, opened at number nine.
And it was a new entry that completed the top ten as Sam Mendes' latest movie Away We Go opened at ten.
