Woman Sues Over Couple's Retreat Photo

The distributors of Vince Vaughn's comedy Couple's Retreat have been hit with a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit from a woman whose photo was allegedly used as a prop in the comedy.

Former model Irina Krupnik claims a snap of her in a bikini, used by one of the film's characters as a sexual aid, is actually a shot she sold to a stock picture agency in 2001.

In the suit, filed on Thursday (11Mar10) in a New York City court, Krupnik is demanding $10 million (£6.7 million) from NBC Universal, the firm which distributed the 2009 comedy.

She claims she never would have allowed the "commonplace swimwear ad" to be used as "softcore pornography", insisting the film is ruining her reputation.

NBC Universal bosses maintain they had the rights to use the photo, reports the Associated Press.
