Dakota Fanning would love to star in the sequel to 'Twilight'.

The actress - who is being considered for the role of vampire Jane in 'New Moon' - insists it would be a dream come true to land the role because she is such a big fan of the novels.

She told Access Hollywood: "I think it's too soon to tell if I'll for sure be doing it, but it's so great. I'm a really big fan of that series and the first film and all the actors in it, so it would be wonderful.

"Pretty much all my friends are pretty big fans, so it would be great."

Dakota, 14, believes she would be ideally suited for the role because of her milky complexion. When asked if she could endure the makeup required for the film, Dakota replied: "I don't think they'll have to put a lot of makeup on me. I'm pretty white already."

'New Moon' - which reunites 'Twilight' stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart - is due for release in November.
