Dakota Fanning's Runaway Role

Dakota Fanning is in final talks to star in 'The Runaways'.

The 15-year-old actress has been approached to star in the movie about the life of outrageous rock singer Joan Jett.

If she does sign up, Dakota will play lead singer Cheri Currie who fronted 'The Runaways' in the 70s aged just 15.

The movie role will see Dakota's character getting caught up in a rock and roll lifestyle of heavy drinking and drug taking.

Floria Sigismondi is responsible for the script and will be in charge when production begins later this year.

'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart has already been signed up for the movie about the all-girl rock band.

If Dakota does sign up for the role this will be the second time the two actresses work together this year. Dakota has been officially signed up as a vampire named Jane in the 'Twilight' sequel 'New Moon'.
