New James Bond film Quantum Of Solace smashed U.K. box office records on its opening day on Friday, taking £4.9 million in ticket sales.The movie, which stars Daniel Craig, broke the record for a Friday release, which was previously held by 2005 film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The fantasy adventure raked in £4 million upon its November 2005 debut.Opening day takings for Quantum of Solace also surpassed 2006 Bond film, Casino Royale, which took £2.9 million on its first day in British cinemas.
