Unfunny Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig is "not a funny man".

The 'Quantum of Solace' star will next appear in 'Defiance', which follows Jewish brothers in Nazi-occupied Poland who seek refuge with Russian resistance fighters, and the actor insists the role was perfect for his temperament.

He explained: "I'm not a funny man. That's not who I am."

The British star also revealed that his role was made more difficult by the fact it was based on a true story.

He added to MTV news: "There is a respect, but at a certain stage, you have to relax about it and just say, 'This is my interpretation'.

"You make judgments and you make assessments. And when you go to shoot it, you just say, 'This is me.' "

According to Daniel, working on the movie was "inspiring" as he had not known very much about the Nazi resistance movement prior to taking on the role.

He said: "I knew there was some resistance. I'd read about pockets of resistance, but never in any detail. So when this came along, I was astounded. Once I'd read the book, learning more about it and learning how successful they were, it was inspiring."
