Djimon Hounsou has been cast as the Angel of Death in the new movie adaptation of John Milton's epic 17th century poem Paradise Lost.
The actor will portray Abdiel in director Alex Proyas' ambitious movie project, which will also feature Bradley Cooper as Lucifer.
Production is scheduled to start early next year (12).
Hounsou has staared in movies such Gladiator, Blood Diamon and The Island throughout his career - but he moved into TV last year with Black Panther.
We haven't seen the actor on the big screen since The Tempest earlier this year, which also starred Helen Mirren.
He has completed filming on Special Forces, which also stars Diane Kruger.
