Edward Norton thinks starring in comedy films "blows your credibility out the window".

The 40-year-old actor loved playing the fool in new comic thriller 'Leaves of Grass', even though he usually prefers more serious roles.

The star explained: "I think it was one of the most entertaining movies I've done in a long time. People start laughing right at the top. It's always good when you get a good audience reaction.

"But it blows all your aspirations for dramatic credibility out the window and you just realise how much fun it is to have a room full of people laughing at you."

Edward - who shot to fame in 1996 film 'Primal Fear' - also enjoyed playing identical twins in the film.

He told Parade.com: "It's sort of a hoot because the credits could be Edward Norton stars with Edward Norton. It's my first attempt to actually play two characters in the same film and it was an enormous amount of fun."
