Elijah Wood Excited By The Hobbit

Elijah Wood has revealed his excitement at landing a role in The Hobbit.

The actor is all set to reprise the role of Frodo Baggins, the part that shot him to fame in The Lord of the Rings, despite the character not appearing in the book.

Speaking to ComingSoon he said: "They've stretched it out over the course of two films - I'm so curious as to what other elements they've woven in, because there are certainly additional works that refer to that same time period that they could weave into it.

"So I'm just very excited to sort of see what the ultimate vision is."

Peter Jackson is all set to return to the director's chair to direct the project, which has been split into two movies, with Martin Freeman taking on the role of Bilbo Baggins.

Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis are set to reprise their roles as Gandalf and Gollum while Orlando Bloom and Cate Blanchett with also be returning.
