John Abraham delivers a blockbuster performance in Twentieth Century Fox’s Force where he re-visits the action genre that he attempted in Dhoom.

Force, a high-octane action film intersected with a light-hearted love story running in flashback sequences, is tightly packed with not only kicks, blood and bruises but a high level emotional quotient that grips the audience.

The remake of the hit Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha Force has it all -  an 8-pack-abs hero and villain, a bubbly heroine, a love-song in a desert and a high intensity action packed climax. Essentially a fight between good and evil, there's a restrained love story as well a tireless war between a cop quartet against the drug cartel in India, which becomes the backbone of the plot.

The film has been receiving rave reviews from top critics in India. Renowned film critic Taran Adarsh gives Force a 4/5 star rating. He writes "Force is an engrossing story of vendetta and it stands out in the crowd.

"The film has the requisite amount of zing and force, so essential for action movies that talk of heroism. If you are looking for a sensible masala film with substance, Force should most definitely figure on your agenda. Recommended!"

The positivity is echoed by fellow critic Komal Natha who comments, "the stylised and raw action scenes will be loved by the masses and the youngsters."

Times of India’s Nikhat Kazmi gives FORCE a 3.5/5 star rating and writes, "high powered action and breezy romance that ensures there’s never a dull moment go for it, all you Gods of War enthusiasts."

John Abraham has given an outstanding and sincere performance as a young, fearless and self-confident Narcotics Officer, Yashvardhan, and rocks movie goers in action and dialogue delivery.

Genelia has been given tremendous scope to prove her mettle with a mature and engaging performance. An actress who is often referred to as under-rated, Genelia is given her due in the role of Maya.

The on-screen chemistry between John and Genelia is also a visual treat and there’s no surprise why they have become one of the most talked about on-screen couples in recent times. Debutant actor Vidyut Jammwal aka the villainous Vishnu plays lead actor John Abraham’s strong opponent with a physique and persona to match.

Rarely before has the bad boy of Indian cinema been as sexy as the lead star and with his eclectic fight sequences, physical strength, insensitive killer instincts and performance, Vidyut is definitely here to stay as he clearly raises the bar for the portrayal of negative characters in Bollywood.

Force’s plot revolves around Yashvardhan (John Abraham) who is a hard-headed senior narcotics officer, who always ensures that justice is served.

In his mission to crack down on India's drug cartels, he encounters a ruthless enemy, who will stop at nothing until he gets his revenge for the damage done to his business by the narcotics team. Meanwhile, he falls in love with free-spirited Maya (Genelia), who makes him discover his softer, loving & protective side. What happens next will form the climax of the film.

A stylised thriller among the new wave of Indian films paying homage to the seminal Indian action genre, 'Force' combines state-of-the-art fight sequences and thrills with an original romantic narrative, delivering an abundance of on-screen energy and vigour that has audiences gripped from the opening sequence to the end credits.

Force is out in UK cinemas today.
