Forrest Whitaker is to star as Louis Armstrong in a new film.The 'Last King of Scotland' actor will also direct the biopic of the legendary jazz trumpeter, which is being made by Legende, the French company behind last year's Edith Piaf film 'La Vie En Rose'.Speaking about the film, 'What A Wonderful World' - named after one of the musicians most famous songs - Forrest said: "Armstrong left a monumental mark on our lives and our culture."He lived an amazing life and, through his art, shifted the way music was played and would be heard after him, not just here in the US but all over the world."The film is the first to be given the blessing by Louis' estate and will chronicle the musician's life from his impoverished early days in New Orleans to his death in 1971, covering his entire career.
