Frankenstein’s Monster

Just ahead of Halloween Frankenstein’s Monster was crowned the greatest movie Classic Monster in a poll hosted by SFX Magazine’ winning a massive 30% of the votes.

The results announced today coincide with the Blu-ray release of Universal Monsters: The Essential Collection and whets appetites for Halloween - so expect to see a shortage of nuts, bolts and green body paint this October 31!

Following closely behind the grunting, green-skinned behemoth portrayed by the legendary Boris Karloff, came the original blood-sucking vamp Dracula with 25% of the votes, who owes his continued appeal in large part due to Bela Lugosi’s indelible portrayal of the immortal Count and drains the blood out of any re-vamped versions!

Sinking down to third place came the terrifying ‘amphibi-man’ The Creature From The Black Lagoon with 15% - now re-mastered and available in 3D Blu-ray.

Howling its way into fourth place was the classic monster of the moonlight, The Wolf Man with 10%, followed by The Bride of Frankenstein (8.5%), which see’s the return of Karloff - but this time with a bride in tow.

Coming in sixth place with 6% was the original version of The Invisible Man, based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel and joint bottom to wrap it up came The Mummy and The Phantom Of The Opera both with 4%.
