There was more success for Judd Apatow this weekend as his new movie Funny People opened at the top of the U.S box office.
The movie follows George, a very successful stand up comedian who learns that he has an untreatable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live.
Ira is a struggling up-and-coming stand up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona.
The man that brought us The Forty Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up brings together some of the hottest comedy talent, including Adam Sandler, Leslie Mann, Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill, for the movie and it has gone on to gross $23 million ousting G-Force from the top spot.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince hung onto second place while G-Force had to be content with third after just a week in the top spot.
Comedy The Ugly Truth, which stars Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl, slipped one place from three to four while Aliens in the Attic was the only other new entry inside the top ten at five.
There were two place slip for both Orphan and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs as they moved from four to six and five to seven.
But it was comedy that ruled the top ten this week as there were one place slips for The Hangover and The Proposal.
But the holder of the title of this week's biggest faller went to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as it fell from six to ten.
