Geoffrey Rush admits that he knows nothing about a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Oscar winning actor has played Captain Barbossa from the very start and reprised the role last year in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - which went on to gross over $1 billion at the global box office.
Rush says that a fifth movie will not go into production until Jerry Bruckheimer and the writers are happy with the script.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "I believe, in the script that's being developed for the fifth film, they do it with great care and consideration.
"The writers and Jerry Bruckheimer, as producer, can't start a film like this... without knowing that the script is in good shape.
"You can't start shooting this sort of stuff, if there's holes in it. But, as to when it will go, I know nothing."
Rush has completed work on The Best Offer - which sees him team up with Jim Sturgess and Donald Sutherland.
