Green Lantern trailer released

Ryan Reynolds' 'The Green Lantern' trailer has arrived, teasing audiences with shots of the lead cast and the movie's storyline.

The trailer of Ryan Reynolds' 'The Green Lantern' has been released.

Although the comic book-adaptation movie - featuring Ryan as the titular hero alongside Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Tim Robbins - is due for release on June 17, the trailer shows much of the storyline.

Ryan is set to play test pilot Hal Jordan, who is given a ring by an alien who crash lands on earth.

Hal later discovers the power the ring holds, and finds it comes in useful for battling powerful aliens threatening the existence of the universe.

Ryan - who has today (17.11.10) been named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine - has previously claimed the 'Green Lantern' will be a match to his favourite superhero movies.

He said: "If a superhero movie is done right, you can craft an incredible film. There have been superhero films that I think are brilliant pieces of art.

"I love 'Iron Man', I love 'Batman'. But also you have to remember it's escapist moviemaking - we want to be captivated and taken away."
