Helen Mirren has admitted that filming new movie Arthur was tough.
The actress reunites with British funnyman Russell Brand, the pair worked together on the soon to be released The Tempest, in the remake of the 1981 movie with Dudley Moore.
Speaking to Collider the actress said: 'Arthur' is wrapped, done, dusted. My God, comedy is tough, my Lord! Especially when you are working with really brilliant comedic people like Russell - it's almost like an action movie.
"I was slightly, like in 'Red', I wasn't in my comfort zone, I didn't understand it completely."
The Oscar winner is back in the big screen later this month in new action movie red, which also stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich.
And she has revealed that she was cautious about accepting the role but decided to go for it.
"I jumped into this film open armed and open hearted and very, very excited, but a little bit of my brain was going, 'I wonder if the people who go to see 'The Last Station' or see me as this serious actress are going to feel as if I've betrayed them.'
"You know, by being in an action movie. But then I thought that I didn't care anyway, because I really want to do it. But there is always a slight danger and I know a lot of my choices in my career have been a little bit dangerous.
"I like to shake it up. And for me the idea of being in an action movie, me, Helen Mirren, in my own little world was an incredibly exciting idea."
Red is released 22nd October.
