Dame Helen Mirren is to be awarded a lifetime achievement honour for her contribution to the film industry.
The Queen Oscar-winner will be presented with the trophy at the 19th annual Women in Film and Television Awards in London next month (Dec09).
Event organisers say Mirren will receive the honour for her "outstanding and lasting contribution to film and television".
Previous winners of the award include former Bond girl Dame Diana Rigg, multi Oscar-winner Katharine Hepburn, and Educating Rita star Julie Walters.
2009 has been a busy year for the Oscar winning actress with the release of State of Play back in the summer, which teamed her up with Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck.
Although she has had only one release she has a string of movies currently in post production including The Last Station, a biographical film about Leo Tolstoy in which she plays Sofya Tolstoy.
Also on the horizon for the actress includes The Debt and The Tempest.
