Helen Mirren impressed with her German language.
German producer Jens Meurer - who worked with the British actress on her new romantic drama 'The Last Station' - said Helen often mispronounced words but got stuck in and "won them all over."
The producer said: "It was very obvious that Helen Mirren was extremely well prepared and knew exactly how to play the part. Our first event together was a press conference at the beginning of the shoot and while there she said she was extremely happy to be in Germany.
won them all over. The producer said:
"She said that it wasn't her first visit and she knew exactly where she was but she could not pronounce the state Saxony-Anhalt. Because of that she would call it "Sexy-Anhalt". After that she won them all over."
Jens said the 64-year-old Hollywood star - who plays a character called Sofya, wife to the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy in the movie - was also very grounded.
He told moviepilot.de: "She wanted no Limousine with a driver, she wanted to drive herself. She then got a little car. Helen Mirren was a very amiable, very polite and funny person."
