Hugh Jackman has turned roving reporter to film a documentary investigating fair trade practises.
The Australian actor has stunned passersby in New York City by popping into cafes and restaurants unannounced with a camera crew to quiz vendors over what they know about goods coming from developing countries.
The star is hoping to raise awareness for fair trade initiatives, which help struggling workers and farmers become financially stable and self-sufficient.
According to HelloMagazine.com, Jackman hopes to find answers to questions such as, "How is it that a kid dies every three seconds from extreme poverty?"
2009 has been a very busy and successful for Jackman so far as he took to the stage at the beginning of the year to host the eighty first Academy Awards.
This summer he topped the box office as he reprise the role of Wolverine for the fourth time for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the first spin off of the X-Men franchise.
