Inglourious Basterds Tops Aussie Box Office

Inglourious Basterds is enjoying global box office success as it landed at the number one spot in Australia.

Quentin Tarantino's World War II movie brings together an impressive cast of Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Eli Roth and Michael Fassbender and ha also topped the U.S box office this weekend.

The Ugly Truth had to settle for the number two spot but did gross a further $1.4m. Both District 9 and G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra both fell one place.

My Sister's Keeper held onto the number five spot. But Harry Potter dropped two places, falling out of the top five, moving from four to six.

There was only on other new entry inside the top ten and that came in the form of spoof movie Dance Flick, which has been universally panned by the critics.
