Jack Black is to star in 'Gulliver's Travels'.
The 'Tropic Thunder' star will play Lemuel Gulliver, the adventurous travel writer who during a trip to the Bermuda Triangle ends up washed up on the island of Liliput, which is inhabited by tiny people, in the big-screen version of Jonathan Swift's best-selling story.
Rob Letterman, who helmed 'Shark Tale' is to take on directorial duties, while the script is being penned by Nicholas Stoller, who wrote 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'Shrek' writer Joe Stillman.
Filming is set to start next March and is expected to feature a mix of live-action and animated footage.
Although many TV and film adaptations have been made of the novel - the most recent being a 1996 version which starred Ted Danson - the new version has been brought out of the 1700s into the modern day.
