Will Smith's son is set to star in a remake of 'The Karate Kid'.
Jaden Smith - who starred alongside his father in the critically-acclaimed 'The Pursuit of Happyness' - has been cast in the lead role in the re-imagining of the 80s classic.
The new film will see the 10-year-old actor's character going to study martial arts in Beijing after being attacked by a gang of bullies.
In the original 1984 film, Ralph Macchio - who was 23 at the time - played teenager Daniel LaRusso who was taught to fight by old karate master Mr. Miyagi, played by the late Pat Morita.
Will is set to co-produce the movie. There is currently no director attached to the project.
Jaden - who is Will's child with wife Jada Pinkett Smith - will soon be seen in another remake, upcoming sci-fi film 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'.
