The rarest James Bond posters are set to go under the hammer in Los Angeles in December (12) as part of the ongoing 50th anniversary of the first 007 movie Dr.No.
Profiles in History boss Joe Maddalena has collected a series of holy grail Bond billboards for his upcoming Hollywood Auction, and he's convinced the world's biggest film fans will be bidding on 15 and 16 December (12).
The Bond poster collection is estimated to bring in over $200,000 (£125,000), with the highlights including a Dr No special advance silkscreen poster from 1962.
Maddalena tells WENN, "This poster is arguably the very first James Bond007 film poster to appear to the public. The poster is exceedingly rare, and without question a holy grail of film poster collecting".
But the highest-priced item is expected to be a Renato Fratini-designed From Russia With Love world premiere poster from 1963, which is expected to fetch over $10,000 (?6,250).
Maddalena adds, "The poster is a special advance Leicester Square world premiere quad poster. It is quite possibly the rarest of all theatrical-release James Bond posters, with very few originally printed for the premiere screenings".
