James Cameron is turning his record-breaking solo dive to the world's deepest point into a documentary special for TV network National Geographic.
Last month (Mar12), the filmmaker plunged seven miles (11-kilometres) underwater to reach the Mariana Trench of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of Guam, breaking his own previous record of five miles (8.2 kilometres) offthe coast of Papua New Guinea.
The Titanic filmmaker partnered with the National Geographic Society to"conduct deep-ocean research and exploration to expand our knowledge andunderstanding of these largely unknown parts of the planet", and now hisamazing journey will be televised.
James Cameron Voyage to the Bottom of the Earth will premiere in the U.S. on 29 April (12).
