Jamie Bell was "desperate" to put a dance sequence in 'Defiance'.

The 22-year-old actor - who trained as a dancer - hoped to show off his footwork in the World War II drama but his co-star Daniel Craig didn't like the suggestion so he is now on the look-out for a new role to showcase his talents.

I'm not really a fan of movie musicals either

Jamie - who shot to fame as a ballet dancer in 'Billy Elliott' - said: "I was desperate to try to put a dancing sequence in this movie but Daniel wasn't too sure about it.

"There hasn't been anything good with dancing in it for a while. I'm not really a fan of movie musicals either. So that's kind of put to bed at the moment."

Jamie insists that his background has helped with his acting career.

He added to BBC Newsbeat: "I love my dancing. I really embrace it. I think without that I think I wouldn't have quite the discipline. I think dancing gives you a certain discipline. I would love to apply that to one again but there hasn't been the right thing to do again."
