Jason Statham is to star in 'Blitz'.

The 'Bank Job' actor will play a tough cop who attempts to track down a serial killer who is targeting police officers in the thriller.

'The Bourne Ultimatum' star Paddy Considine will play Jason's partner but no other casting information has been given.

'Love Is The Drug' helmer Elliott Lester is to direct the film from Nathan Parker's script.

Meanwhile, it is rumoured that Jason, Mickey Rourke, Gary Oldman and Ian McShane are loosely attached to star in 'Pretty, Baby, Machine', a thriller based on the gangster graphic novel of the same name.

The film - which is set in 1933 - follows a time when three infamous gangsters - Pretty Boy Floyd, Baby Face Nelson and Machine Gun Kelly - make a pact to unite against their one nemesis who wants to bring about their downfalls.

It is unclear which actors would play each character.
