Jena Malone is in early talks to take on the role of Joanna Mason in The Huger Games: Catching Fire.
Mason is one of the big new characters to enter the franchise in the second instalment, she is a former winner of the Games who is forced back into the arena with other champions.
Jennifer Lawrence is set to reprise the role of Katniss Everdeen while Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also back as Gale and Peeta.
Francis Lawrence will be in the director's chair this time around while Simon Beaufoy has penned the screenplay.
The role of Finnick Odair is yet to be cast while Philip Seymour Hoffman had been linked to the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
Filming on Catching Fire will start later this year.
