Johnny Depp 'Emasculated' Over Sexiest Man Alive Title Loss

Johnny Depp has joked that he is gutted to have lost the Sexiest Man Alive title to Ryan Reynolds.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was award the title from People magazine twelve months ago but was unable to retain it in 2010.

Talking to MTV the actor joked: "I feel emasculated. I feel like I've been beaten down like some horrible ... you know, like some pathetic harp seal. But, I mean, that's how it goes, isn't it?"

"I think I can work my way forward, but will I try for it again? No. ... I worked so hard to gain that title."

But things aren’t so bad for the Oscar nominee as he enjoyed another movie, in the form of Alice In Wonderland, to break $1 billion at the box office, the other being Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

And he is back on the big screen this week as he teams up with Angelina Jolie, starring together for the very first time, for The Tourist.

And there is plenty of work coming Depp’s way as he has already completed Rango and The Run Diary and is currently working on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The Tourist is released 10th December.
