Katy Perry Wants To Play Mary Poppins

Katy Perry has revealed that she would love to play Mary Poppins if the movie was ever to be remade.

The actress suggested that her husband Russell Brand could take on Dick Van Dyke's character of Bert.

Speaking to The Mirror the singer said: "I can't deny that I used to grab an umbrella and think, 'I could take off with the right winds' as a kid.

"I think I could play her if they remade it,"Russell could play Bert. He'd have less trouble with the accent than me."

The actress is set to star in a movie, or her voice is at least, later this summer with The Smurfs.

Perry is all set to voice the character of Smurfette in the movie which will also star Hank Azaria, Jonanthan Winters and Alan Cumming.
