Bacon Chases After Cell Phone Thief

Actor Kevin Bacon has enlisted the help of New York City police after he failed to capture a thief who ran off with his cell phone.

The Footloose star wasted no time running after the man who swiped his BlackBerry while at a subway station in Manhattan on Thursday (21May09).

Bacon called police after losing track of the man - who remained at large on Saturday (23May09) - while racing through the station's crowd, reports the New York Post.

According New York City Transit officials, no subway personnel were told about the crime.

New York Police Department officials couldn't confirm yesterday that a report was filed concerning the robbery.

FemaleFirst could not reach Bacon for comment as he is currently travelling with his band, The Bacon Brothers.
