Kristen Stewart says landing the part of Joan Jett is "absolutely insane".

The 'Twilight' actress - who is set to play the rock legend in upcoming biopic 'The Runaways' - admitted she felt honoured to be offered the role.

The movie is set to be helmed by music video director Floria Sigismondi - who has also written the screenplay.

Actresses to play the rest of the band - guitarist Lita Ford, drummer Sandy West, singer-keyboard player Cherie Currie and bassist Jackie Fox - have yet to be cast.
