Sedgwick Closes the Case on The Closer... The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick will hand in her police badge when the hit TV series wraps next year (11).

The actress' portrayal of Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson earned her a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award earlier this year (10), but she has decided to bring the show to an end after its upcoming seventh season.

I'll just focus on something stupid, like, 'I hate my laugh. Why did I smile?' Sometimes I look at myself and think, 'Dude, I have the biggest, goofiest smile on earth.'

She says, "I cannot fathom how difficult it will be to say goodbye to the incredible family we've created on The Closer...

"I want to thank Tnt and Warner Bros. Television, as well as the incredible fans of The Closer, for all of their unwavering support over the last seven years."

I am so upset that you are ending The Closer. I really enjoy watching the program and it is a great show. Please don't end the show!! We will miss watching it.
