Leonardo DiCaprio has called his co-star Kate Winslet the best actress of her generation.
DiCaprio reunites with the British actress in Sam Mendes' latest movie Revolutionary Road after they first pared up in 1997 for the box office smashing Titanic.
The actor told the Independent "Kate and I knew we could push each other's buttons, performance-wise, and knew we could pull stuff out of each other. We've known each other since we were almost teenagers. So [Revolutionary Road] was something that I jumped at the opportunity to do."
Revolutionary Road is already surrounded in Oscar hype, despite not being released in the UK until January, with hope that Winslet will at last get her hands on a Best Actress Oscar.
Set in 1955 the film follows the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler, self-assured Connecticut suburbanites who see themselves as very different from their neighbours in the Revolutionary Hill Estates.
April is an aspiring actress who yearns to move to Paris, while Frank copes with toiling away at a corporate job he despises by drinking too heavily and engaging in an affair with a co-worker. The couple's marriage slowly dissolves into an endless cycle of bitter arguments and jealous recriminations.
