Linda Hamilton may return for the fourth 'Terminator' film.

The actress - who starred as Sarah Connor in the first two films in the science-fiction franchise - could be asked to provide a voice over in the opening sequence of 'Terminator Salvation', according to director McG.

Well, I'm not at liberty to answer that. And perhaps in not answering it, I've answered it.

The filmmaker admitted that while he has not worked out how to sum up the events of the previous three films, using Linda to recap is an option.

Arnold Schwarzenegger - who played Terminator T-800 in the first three movies - has previously sparked rumours he may return when he was spotted on the 'Terminator Salvation' set last year.

Ongoing rumours suggest the star could have a cameo or a voice-over.

Director McG has suggested Schwarzenegger could make a return to acting when asked if the politician would feature in the new film.

He said: "Well, I'm not at liberty to answer that. And perhaps in not answering it, I've answered it."
