Maria Bello's gun accident

Maria Bello accidentally shot herself in the face while making 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor'.The actress undertook intensive training in preparation for the role in the action adventure, but suffered a mishap with a gun.Claiming she was proud of the injury, Maria said: "I trained in Japanese sword fighting. I worked on wires. I did fight training. "The only mishap came when I was shooting a big old Winchester rifle. One day a cartridge came up and hit me right below the eye. It hurt so bad, but I was so proud. For a week I walked around with no makeup because I had this big black eye. I felt very tough."Maria also insists she could never "fill Rachel Weisz's shoes".The actress has taken over Rachel's role in 'The Mummy' franchise but says they have very different acting styles. She added to Parade.com: "I could never fill Rachel's shoes. Rob Cohen, the director, said Rachel was like Audrey Hepburn and I'm playing her more like Katherine Hepburn. I've never been an ingénue. Instead of trying to fill Rachel's shoes I just sort of made up my own shoes."
'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' is released in cinemas next month.
