Martin Scorsese is to shoot his new movie Hugo Cabret in 3D.
The Oscar winner's editor on the film Thelma Schoonmaker has revealed that Scorsese is keen to film the movie 3D because he is 'passionate' about this style of movie.
Speaking to Empire she said: "He's always been passionate about 3-D and, as a matter of fact, we've started screening older 3-D movies. We looked at 'Avatar' and 'Alice in Wonderland then we looked at the older ones, and we love them.
"Hitchcock's 'Dial M For Murder' in 3-D is a whole other movie. There's only one really dramatic shot that is 3-D in the sense that most people think of it - Grace Kelly's being strangled, the camera's behind her, and she reaches back for the scissors. And that's a beautiful 3-D Shot."
The movie, which is set in the 1930's brings together an all star cast of Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Emily Mortimer, Chloe Moretz, Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Scorsese has already enjoyed box office success this year with the adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel Shutter Island, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio.
Living in the Material World: George Harrison is a project that is already in post production and he is all set to film a biopic picture about Sinatra.
