Matt Damon has revealed that he felt more pressure working on new movie We Bought A Zoo because it all hangs on him.

The actor has been part of one of the biggest franchises of all time but he said that pressure was nothing compared to bringing this real life story to the big screen.

Speaking to the Radio Times the actor said: "It ends up being all on you.

"I remember being deep in the s*** with (director) Paul Greengrass in the last Bourne movie - no script, writing it as we were going along, but Paul would say, 'remember, coming up here is a little bish bash bosh'.

"There were these anchors you could count on. But there's none of that in this.

"If this movie tanks, it'll be very bad for me because it's hanging on me."

The movie is based on the memoir of Benjamin Mee and his struggle to get a dilapidated zoo ready to re-open.

The movie is directed by Cameron Crowe and sees Damon team up with Scarlett Johansson and Thomas Haden Church.

We Bought A Zoo is released 16th March.
