Melissa Joan Hart has banned her kids from showbusiness until they finish high school - because she doesn't want them to follow in her footsteps and become child stars.

Hart made her acting debut at the age of three in a TV commercial, and went on to become a teen star with hit U.S. TV series Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.

The actress is now mother to sons Mason, four, and Braydon, two, with her musician husband Mark Wilkerson and insists she would not be against them pursuing a career in acting - but only after they graduate.

She says, "They would definitely have to graduate high school and then they could do whatever they wanted.

"I would encourage them in some ways but I wouldn't force them to do it (showbusiness)."

The thirty four year old is currently filming Melissa & Joey, a ten episode series for ABC, and was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars in 2009.
