'Men in Black III' will have a production break of two months from December because of rumoured script changes.

Will Smith's 'Men in Black III' will have a two month break in production from December for script changes.

The highly anticipated 3-D sequel - which sees Smith's Agent Jay head back to the late 1960s in a time-travelling plot - will halt shooting for two months while a re-write of the script takes place, although it is not expected the hiatus will affect the film's release date.

So back in July we had the idea to keep the start date but built in a hiatus so we could essentially extend the production to late spring.

Sources told the Los Angeles Times Jeff Nathanson has been brought in to work on the project - which will star Josh Brolin as a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones' character Agent Kay - specifically the time-travel aspect.

The first draft of the movie was written by Etan Cohen.

The film's producer Walter Parkes confirmed 'Men in Black III' would have a production break which would "extend" the timescale of the shooting schedule.

He said: "We had to start shooting this year to take advantage of New York State tax incentives, but we also needed to be able to shoot certain exteriors in warmer weather.
