Michelle Rodriguez is currently re-writing The Bandits.

The actress has revealed that wanted to be a script writer despite getting into the industry as an actress. However she has admitted that her writing passion has never died and it's something that she is keen to pursue.

Speaking to Movie Hole she said: "Yeah, I'm writing a remake of The Bandits, which is about four girls who break out of jail and get chased across the country by the Feds and by this MTV-like representative. It's an old German film. I'm writing it pro bono, so if the producer likes it, he'll make it."

But the Avatar star wasn't to certain if she would star in her own movie: "We'll see. I'd think so. But ya know, I got into this business to write - not to act.

"But as an incentive for people to read my s**t, I have to agree to be in the film. I'm starting a whole new career so I'm like a kid in a candy store."

When asked if she would leave her acting career behind to write she said: "Oh, in a heartbeat - are you kidding me? I enjoy acting, but I'd really like to pursue this."

The actress is  back in the big screen later this year with Machete, which sees her work with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and star alongside Robert De Niro, Danny Trejo and Jessica Alba.

Battle: Los Angeles is currently in post production and she has been linked to movies The Jesuit and Army Of Two.
