Mickey Rourke found it "a nightmare" losing the weight he put on for 'The Wrestler'.
The actor was forced to bulk up for his role as grappler Randy 'The Ram' Robinson and admits he struggled to get back to his old physique when filming ended.
He said: "I had to watch it at Christmas time because I put so much weight and muscle on for the movie it was like, 'I gotta lose these 30 pounds'. And it's been a nightmare. That was part of the hard thing."
That was the kind of look they had
Mickey, 52, also revealed he had to have hair extensions in order to make him appear more convincing as a wrestler.
He added to BBC Newsbeat: "The hair was half mine, half extensions. Blonde hair was a big thing in the 80s. That was the kind of look they had. They all looked as though they'd stepped out of a beauty parlour or discotheque somewhere.
"Darren Aronofsky, the director, gave me a lot of tapes to look at the wrestlers from the 80s and they all seem to have that same look. It's quite different now. The guys look a little different. The hair's short but it's still the same game really."
