Natalie Portman Wants To Be Challenged

Natalie Portman has revealed that she likes to challenged as an actress.

She is back on the big screen in the new year with her latest movie Black Swan, a movie that has teamed her up with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky.

And Portman admits that it was a scary role for her but that was what pulled her into the project.

Speaking to Empire magazine the actress said: "Work-wise, I try to do things that scare me, because I know they're going to challenge me.

"But I didn't know what I was in for with Black Swan. I didn't realise what it was going to be like. But the cliché is true, the more you put in, the more you get out.

"Everything that scared me about the role was also what drew me to it. It was an amazing opportunity to challenge myself emotionally and physically."

The movie has already been tipped for Oscar success with Portman being many's favourite to pick up a Best Actress Oscar nomination early next year.

Black Swan is released 11th February.
