Nicole Kidman has revealed that she is thankful for the Oscar nomination that she received yesterday.
She is up for Best Actress for her central role in new movie Rabbit Hole, which sees her star alongside Aaron Eckhart as a pair of grieving parents.
Speaking to the Associated Press the actress said: "What an extraordinary journey this film has taken me on!"
"Rabbit Hole has been a labour of love and I'm so thankful to [director] John Cameron Mitchell, [writer] David Lindsay-Abaire and the brilliant cast."
"This nomination reflects all of the heart and soul that these people have put into it and I can't thank them enough."
But Kidman faces a tough battle if she wants to take home a second Academy Award as Natalie Portman, Annette Bening, Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams were also nominated.
Rabbit Hole is the first movie for Kidman since she starred in Nine back in 2009. But she has a couple of other projects hitting the big screen this year as she has already completed work on Just Go With It and Trespass.
Rabbit Hole is released 4th February.
