The 'Australia' actress stars opposite the actor in forthcoming musical movie 'Nine' and admits she was pleasantly surprised by his accomplished performance in his first-ever singing role.
She said: "Daniel has never done a musical before, but he's an extraordinary actor and I think people will be astounded by how good he is."

The forthcoming film also stars Sophia Lauren, Dame Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and Penelope Cruz, and Nicole – who previously showcased her vocal talents in 'Moulin Rouge!' – says they are all enjoying the experience.
She added: "It's just an amazing group of women, and we all get on so well."
'Nine', based on the Broadway musical of the same name, is currently being shot in London. It is scheduled for release next December.
