Owen Wilson's parents kept calling him by his real name while shooting scenes for their new movie.
The actor's mum and dad make a cameo appearance in 'Marley and Me' as the mother and father of his character, John, and the star admits they occasionally had trouble distinguishing between real life and the movie.
Right after the first take he said, 'Is it too early to say a star is born?' He really did
Owen said: "They appear in the montage. They play my parents. A tough role. They kept calling me Owen in the scenes and that's not my character's name."
Despite the gaffe, the 'Wedding Crashers' actor says his dad in particular enjoyed the experience and has now set his sights on a Hollywood career.
He added to BBC Newsbeat: "My dad had been in another movie with me but it was my mother's first time. My dad was kind of cocky. Right after the first take he said, 'Is it too early to say a star is born?' He really did."
