Paula Abdul says meeting Sacha Baron Cohen's character Bruno left her traumatised for a year.
The 'American Idol' judge was interviewed by Cohen's latest alter-ego, flamboyant Austrian fashion reporter Bruno, for his new movie and admits it was a "disturbing" experience.
Paula - who had no idea she was being filmed for 'Bruno...' - said: "It was hysterical, but it was so disturbing.
"It is the most interesting, wacked-out situation that happened to me. I was scarred for my life for a year. I walk into the home, and I'm greeted by this futuristic Captain Nemo-looking dude with a Mohawk — and he's flaming. And I'm going, 'Oh, this is going to be one of those fun Japanese game shows.' I'm like, 'OK, this is weird.' "
' And I said, 'I've never done anything with Sacha Cohen
The mock interview involved her sitting on a Mexican guy, who had bent down on all fours to become a chair for her.
Paula says she was set up to appear in the film after being told she was receiving a German award, and woke up in a cold sweat when she realised she had been duped.
She added to the Johnjay and Rich radio show: "Three weeks ago, my manager sends over something. He says, 'I have no idea what this is. ... People magazine wants to know how it feels to be totally punked by Sacha Baron Cohen.' And I said, 'I've never done anything with Sacha Cohen.' And at ul's two o'clock in the morning that night, I woke up in a cold sweat. I popped my body up out of bed, and I went, 'Holy c**p! Oh, my God!' And that's what happened. And I'm dying."
