Primeval Heading For Big Screen

Warner Bros. have reportedly signed a deal to produce a big screen version of hit ITV show Primeval.

The show, which is now in it's third series, has been surrounded by movie whispers in the last few weeks, as well as rumours that the show would not be re-commissioned due to the economic climate, a rumour that was denied.

Primeval co-creator Adrian Hodges told Totalscifionline.com:"Obviously we're thrilled with the situation. We always felt that if Primeval was going to be a movie it needed to be done on the grand scale and obviously Warner Bros is the right place for it, given their recent record with big budget spectaculars.

"More importantly perhaps, we wanted the right kind of creative forces behind it and I don't think they come much more impressive than Akiva Goldsman, whose record both as a writer and Producer speaks for itself.

"I'm particularly pleased that the project is in his hands as he's clearly a man with a huge interest in the creative side, which is massively important to us.

"Tim Haines and I have nurtured Primeval for over six years now and we love it dearly and we wanted the film to be made with someone who feels the same way and Akiva fits that description.

"It's very early days and creative discussions have barely begun, but obviously we're looking forward to where it goes from here."

Primeval which hit our screens for the first time back in 2007 follows a team who try to control the appearance of dinosaurs in the present day.

But will it still be set in England, let alone have any of the original/current cast? I suspect not... :(
